Bank Street Apartments
Bank Street Apartments, located in downtown Waterbury, Connecticut, is an adaptive reuse project that is currently awaiting LEED-Silver certification.
68-70 Bank Street is a gut rehabilitation of an existing four story brick masonry building. The upper floors are residential apartments and the ground floor is a commercial space. The façade of the building & the storefront have been restored to its original historic appearance as much as possible. The inside of the building, which is structurally stable, has minor joist replacement wherever there is damage and all new interior partition walls, electrical, heating & plumbing systems.
The luxury rentals bring life back to a downtown currently undergoing its own revitalization, while maintain the historical integrity of the community. The work a received an Award of Excellence for Adaptive Reuse of a Building from the State of Connecticut, as well as a Beautification Award from the Waterbury Litter Control and Beautification Commission.
The building has been renovation to strict environmental standards; all appliances are Energy Star compliant, and a highly efficient central heating plant has been installed.
